It’s Sunday afternoon and I’m onboard a train on the St Petersburg – Moscow route, a 9 hour trip, a perfect moment to review all the great experiences in probably one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to. The unique architecture of St Petersburg, the rivers around and that mix of new and old things makes it so special.. I love it.
So here a resume of this 11 day stay:
Luckily I was able to meet again with almost all those old friends I got to know back in 2010, and of course met new ones too. Growing the amount of people you know in a city makes it more probable that you’ll come back, and for St Pete, coming back is always good news. 🙂
I’ve been speaking Russian maybe more than 80% of the time, and I’m starting to feel a lot more confortable with the language, I can even pronounce the letter ы now!
Made some great excursions, we spent Ilyusha’s (my friend and artist representative in Russia) birthday in the city of Vyborg near the Finland border, another day at a park in a beautiful island which name I forgot, those walks in Proletarskaya neighborhood, the Zenit vs. Arsenal Tula football match at the great Zenit’s stadium, those days just hanging around in small groups, etc, etc
It was my first time being announced and playing at an international festival, a big mark for my career with great press repercussion and perspective towards the future, so really happy about it.
I was super lucky with the weather, 11 days of just sun and temperatures from 18 in the night to 30 during the day. Rain started just a few hours before catching this train, which probably marked the ending of the summer..
Now it’s time to move forward, I’ll be staying in Moscow for 5 days at the house of my good friends Fob & Yuka, expecting to meet again with another bunch of great people I know there!
