Crossing of The Andes

A 3 hour flight connects Lima to Santiago, capital of Chile, the second country in this trip, after Peru, which I hadn’t ever visited before.

I spent 3 days at a hostel in the center, with great staff who watched with me the Copa Libertadores football matches :).

Santiago is a rather plain city, maybe much more quiet and ordered than Buenos Aires but maybe with less offer though with very similar streets.

I went on my usual endless walks, 4 to 6 hours non-stop, seeing everything from busy streets to random neighbourhoods.

On the 4th day I took a bus to Valparaíso, a port city in the Pacific coast, where I stayed there for 3 more nights at a hostel and enjoyed the walks through the hills and its colourful houses. Only 15 minutes away by bus is Viña del Mar, which I also visited on a day trip to enjoy a sunset by the beach.

From Valparaíso I went straight back to the airport in Santiago to catch a flight to Mendoza, Argentina. Got this 50 minute flight for only 22 dollars, and I have to say the turbulence when crossing the Andes was quite interesting..

In Mendoza I stayed at a nice apartment in the center and went to the mountains where breathtaking landscapes awaited. I created an album with some pictures of this incredible place:

I felt very proud of having born in such a beautiful country, I had never been to Mendoza before and it really surpassed my expectations, a clean, beautiful city surrounded by the greatest sceneries nature can offer.

Now after following up with listenings and comments on Tangel Trio’s new mixings I’m waking up quite early to go to my next destination, where a lot of work and study awaits!
